Oma erika - Düsseldorf
Impressions
This coffee place follows the theme of an old colonial produce store. The tables in the café carry a "1925" engraving and you can find more interesting things inside the café that might remind you of previous centuries.
The cafe accomodates solid wooden tables for 2-5 people and serves breakfast, coffee, cakes, and bagels along with some niche drinks such as specific type of ginger lemonade. The cake selection offers enough choice for everyone and are very tasty.
The coffee place is located in the area of "Flingern" which is a very well-known district for young families, students and young professionals and not too far from the city center. There are a lot of other cafés and little boutique shops around so it is a pleasant neigbourhood to stroll around on a Sunday afternoon.
In the weekends this place is usually busy so you need to be lucky to find a free spot in here.

Taste
The cappuccino was good overall but the espresso could have been a little stronger and the latte was a little watery.
Cakes are excellent.
Atmosphere
The atmosphere is nice, relaxed, trendy and perfect to meet up with friends, however not very optimal for having a calm afternoon reading a book (at least not on the weekend). There is an inside sitting place with a little gallery as well as few outside tables for the sunny days.
Value
Good value for money for coffee, cake and regular drinks. The special drinks such as ginger lemonade are of course a bit more pricy. The muesli with fruits is also not cheap but the portion and taste are supposed to be worth the money.
Extras
- Wheelchair accessible (partly)
