Rosehurst

Rosehurst - The English Garden in the middle of South Africa

Impressions

Rosehurst is a beautiful little oasis in the town of Pietermaritzburg. It is both a café, restaurant and souvenir shop with handmades, china ware, antiquities and other interesting stuff to purchase or just admire,

The old building offers a very cute café at its backside with a terrace overlooking a well kempt english garden. There is music and a relaxed atmosphere with extremely friendly service and food and drinks that are made with love.

I can recommend this place for a tranquil breakfast, lunch or afternoon break.

Taste

In this case I did not order any coffee but a hot chocolate as you might guess from the above picture. The taste of the chocolate made with real chocolate topped with hot creamy milk was excellent. The food (bagel with scrambled eggs) also tasted very well.

Atmosphere

The atmosphere could probably be best described as charmed. When you enter Rosehurst café it feels like you are suddenly in a quiet café somewhere in an English suburb. The staff is very attentive, friendly and will welcome you with a smile. Drinking your tea or coffee at one of the beautifully arranged tables gives you a soothing feeling and will certainly help you to make most of your coffee break.

Value

The prices for drinks and food were reasonable given the freshly nature of the offering, the special way the food is served and the good quality of the products and ingredients.
